Indeed, Osaka is the place where Bunraku puppetry reached its peak during 17th century. Performances are still cast at the National Bunraku Theatre in Jan, April, Jun- Aug and in Nov. The price of the tickets depends on the performance but you should know they sell out really quickly. It's close to Nipponbashi Station.
