Sengaku ji temple in Tokyo

Posted 1 year ago by rohn in response to suppatruppa's question: I heard about this famous temple in Shinagawa, Tokyo, what's that famous for? (give a different answer) .

Well, you have to visit it first to find out. From what I recall, it houses the graves of Asano Takumi and his 47 ronin. Most of the temple has been destroyed during the war, and rebuilt . From the old structure, just a striking gate remains. The closest station is Sengaku ji on the Toei Asakusa Line.
