kitkat's question:
We'd like to visit at least one of the beautiful Japanese gardens... Which one shouldn't we miss?(give a different answer) .
The west side of central Ueno is rather dominated by strange bars and hotels but it shelters a remarkable treasure of a different past. The Kyu Iwasaki-tei Gardens are surrounding a classy, elegant house, combining Western and Japanese styles. You must see the wooden Jacobean and the Moorish style arabesque interiors of the Western style mansion, they are really impressive.. The Japanese chambers are lovely through the faded screen paintings. A tea will cost you Y500.
