Tokudai ji temple in Tokyo

Posted 1 year ago by valerie in response to avatar iggy's question: what could I visit around Ueno in Tokyo? (give a different answer) .

In case you happen to pass by Ueno Park, in the southern part, just next to Ameyoko cho market, there lies a beautiful traditional temple called Tokudai ji. It's worth to stop and take a closer look. It was dedicated to a goddess of prosperity and rich harvests. You should look out for the coloured banners to catch sight of the temple.
